I recently purchased an Oberheim Matrix 1000 analog synth in “excellent” condition from someone on Ebay who had good feedback.

I just purchased a used Oberheim Matrix 1000 synth module, filled with Digitally controlled analog goodness.
The Matrix 1000 is a 1U analog Synth made by analog keyboard synth maker Oberheim in the 1980s. The unit’s name comes from the fact that the synth has 1000 patches stored in 10 banks.

In our eternal quest to make electronic music instruments more expressive, and following in the tradition of the $230k, 40 string abomination, the “StringStation” here is the $7000 Eigenharp Alpha, a cross of what seems to be a string bass / didgeridoo and a monome.
This silly looking contraption has no strings, requires a Mac to run, it has a Breath pipe, 120 keys on...

Original ideas are hard, very hard to come by.
The creators of the monome were onto something big when they created their groundbreaking hardware controller.
Why? because another Monome 64 clone controller for Ableton has been launched, this time coming from Novation. It is called Launchpad, and it is looks even more like the monome 64 than the infamous Akai APC40. Unlike the Akai...
